ENTANGLED (2018)

Created almost entirely from discarded materials - plastic grocery bags/fruit netting, marine debris rope collected from the beach and recycled denim jean/PET plastic bottle yarn.

Through knit and crochet, Entangled represents the large amount of human created waste, particularly plastic, interwoven in our current lives.  The final scarf outcome is symbolic of ocean wildlife entanglement.

Exhibited at The Sea Between Us |  The Illuminated Sea (Tasma Terrace, The National Trust of Australia, 2018) where 14 collaborative designers from RMIT University & Brazil’s Universidade Anhembi Morumbi responded to the impacts of plastic pollution & the fashion/textile industry.  Discarded plastic was shared between the two & upcycled into garments & accessories.
